You can frame a moment. But you can´t frame life.

Born in Cape Town, South Africa, I am a contemporary, realist artist based in City Beach. I completed a National Diploma in Graphic Design and began my career in Advertising. When the travel bug bit, I moved to London and began working for a magazine publisher as a junior designer and cartoonist.

Upon my return to Cape Town several years later, I worked for a very large Publishing group as a senior designer and illustrator for their natural history division. A few years later I struck out on my own and successfully established my own publishing and design studio.

In 2000 my husband and I moved to Sydney, Australia where I worked for New Holland publishing group. Two years later we relocated to Perth. After

being in Perth for 2 years we decided that this was where we were going call home and raise our family!

This change brought about some fresh beginnings – I began painting and have never looked back. The intense colour and buttery texture of oil paint made this an irresistible choice of medium.

Water and animals are among my favourite subjects. I try to capture their movement with energetic brush strokes and lively colours in an effort to replicate the energy of the scene. My background in graphic design is self evident in my realistic drawing style and dynamic composition. I love to paint big and use a combination of thin acrylic washes with thick oil paint

over the top.

Every year I am part of local exhibitions such as Army Art, Newman College, Hale School. In 2012 I was a finalist the Black Swan Heritage Award and in 2016 was the Open winner and People’s choice winner of the Williams Gateway show.

I am currently represented by Finishing Touch Gallery in Fremantle and Gallery 360 in Subiaco.
