Valerie Anderson

Valerie was born in 1951 in Perth, Western Australia. She is married with 3 children. She attended Claremont School of Art, completing a Diploma in Art Studies in 1990. During these studies Valerie developed a love of printmaking. At this time she became a member of the Printmakers Association of Western Australia.

In 1994 Valerie leased a studio at the Tresillian Community Centre in Nedlands and began producing prints and teaching printmaking to children and adults. Valerie left Tresillian in 1998 and moved to her present location.

After experimenting with many different facets of printmaking, a personal process evolved, producing multi colour, collagraph prints using both intaglio and relief techniques. Photopolymer techniques and mixed media are incorporated into current works. Valerie’s inspiration is gained from a wide range of sources.
